Conoil Rewards Distributors For Outstanding Performance
2011-Jul-22Frontline petroleum products marketer Conoil Plc, at the weekend held its maiden Distributors Award Night, where it rewarded 11 distributors for their outstanding performance in the marketing of the company’s lubricants over the past years.
Also at the occasion, Conoil launched two new lubricant products, Quatro Heavy Duty Genset oil and Golden Super Generator oil, to cater to the lubricant needs of the industrial subsector of the economy and to further consolidate Conoil’s leadership in the industry.
Speaking at the event, the Head of Conoil’s lubricant business, Mr. George K. George, said the oil marketing company decided to hold the award night to recognise and appreciate the support of its loyal distributors and customers, through which Conoil monthly lubricant production and sales currently stood at over two million litres.
George said: “We recognise and appreciate the support of our loyal distributors and customers over the years. We recognise the tremendous progress achieved by our major reseller/ retail and industrial channel distributors/ dealers. We are glad that these trade partners are doing well.”
According to him, Conoil has embarked on plans to develop and produce quality lubricants, and therefore, cherished the continued business partnership and loyalty of its dealers and distributors not only to boost sales but to also to contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth by providing quality oils to run industrial machines.
The award recipients were full of praise for the management of Conoil, for recognising their efforts and loyalty to the company over the years.

Conoil, backed by world-renowned UK-based Lubrizol, produces world-class lubricants to meet the vibrant and challenging African environment.
The company’s lubricant production hit 11 million litres as at end of June this year, according to company statistics. Conoil currently controls about 30 percent of the nation’s lubricant market.
According to George, the company has embarked upon expansion projects at its Apapa Installation to increase the lubricant storage capacity to 800,000 litres. The company he added, is also expanding its lube production line and installing machines with modern technology to raise output to 3 million litres in single shift.
Conoil is also building two lube blending and filling plants in Port Harcourt and Kano, which will enable the company increase production capacity from 5 million litres per month to 7 million litres.
To further consolidate its market share, Conoil has launched two lubricant grades, Quatro Heavy Duty Genset oil and Golden Super Generator oil.
The Quatro Heavy Duty Genset is a premium quality multi grade engine oil for heavy duty generator applications, made from very high viscosity Index based oils fortified with tested additive technology and is recommended by leading global industrial engine manufacturers. The Golden Super Generator oil on the other hand, is for light duty gasoline generators.
Conoil said the products were introduced to cater for the needs of both industrial and domestic consumers and to support continued power generation in the face of erratic public power supply.
It would be recalled that the Chairman of Conoil Plc, Dr. Mike Adenuga (Jnr.) told assured shareholders at the company’s 41st Annual General Meeting recently, that the board remained committed to performance-enhancing initiatives, create competitive advantage that would result in attractive profit levels and deliver long-term benefits for the company’s stakeholders.
